Today's readings: in Select from many version in English and other languages for May

From the Old Testament
Today we see yhe boldness of Jonathan and the foolishness of Saul. Actually not much was said about the failure of Samuel as a prophet or as a human being!! He was not afraid of Saul and rebuked him when appropriate.

From the New Testament
Jesus gave his discourse on Him being the Water of life. Note that faith in Jesus can create divisions, belief and unbelief.

From Psalms and Proverbs
David asks God to protect him from his enemies. He even went as far as God punishing his enemies. He left it in the hands of God and did not seek vengeance because vengeance belongs to God.

In Proverbs, be careful with your tongue, it can build up or destroy. We need to have discipline in our lives.
